Jerry P. Willcock
In 1980, at 18, I left Cornwall to study at The London College of Music, National Centre for Orchestral Studies (University of London) and The Royal College of Music. After leaving college I worked as a freelance trumpet player and teacher. As a freelance player in London, I have performed as a soloist on the South Bank and Barbican Centre, (Haydn and Hummel Trumpet Concertos; Bach Brandenburg Concerto No.2., Vivaldi Double Trumpet Concerto;) I have played with many orchestras including; B.B.C Concert Orchestra, Henry Wood Chamber Orchestra, Vivaldi Concertanti, Tenerife Symphony Orchestra. I have worked worked with the National Youth Theatre, played in West End Shows and Broadcast for Radio and Television. I also had the opportunity to work/perform with Lionel Bart, Vangellis and various Caribbean Soca/Calypso performers.
I have since returned to Cornwall and I am now concentrating on writing , recording and performing my own compositions, the style of which is something new. I have had the opportunity, on many occasions, to play my music live, to a varied and most appreciative audience, and through this encouragement my repertoire now includes music which I feel would also be suitable for Film, TV, Radio, Advertising and Commercials.
